The SHB Beauty Training package is currently being updated and is now open for national feedback and consultation as of 1st April and will close at 5 pm on Friday 30^th April 2021.  The validation period, which would usually be two weeks, has been extended to four weeks to accommodate the Easter break.

If you are a beauty therapist or business owner, please review the changes to the various qualification levels and put forward any recommendations you think may be useful for future graduates entering the workforce.

One of the most important changes pertains to cosmetic tattooing, which has now been totally re-written and upgraded as a stand-alone qualification, with no prerequisites needed, as previously when it was included as a Unit of competency within the Level 5 Diploma of Beauty Therapy. 

The new qualification Diploma – SHB50320 – Diploma of Cosmetic Tattooing, will now allow candidates with no previous beauty qualifications to apply, as this Diploma will now provide them with the underpinning knowledge in skin and anatomy and physiology.

The course is estimated to take 12 months to 24 months to complete.  The full Diploma will require the completion of 9 units – 4 core units and 5 elective units.
