Professions that provide services to consumers, such as accountants, lawyers, doctors, financial planners etc, are required to hold a qualification and also maintain and provide evidence of the currency of their knowledge. This is known as Continuing Professional Development (CPD). APAN introduced a CPD PROGRAM for the aesthetics industry to bring the industry to the same professional level as other professions and to protect the future of our profession. ARAP and CTARP are linked to CPD requirements elevating practitioners to meet with the same standards of other professions.  As our procedures are becoming more invasive, the issue of currency of knowledge is paramount to the integrity of the profession.  The official way that currency of knowledge can be validated is through a CPD program set up by an industry body.
