28th November Brisbane Graduates of the Australasian College of Health and Wellness (ACHW) congregated at the Cloudland, Heritage Room for the ‘Cap and Gown’ graduation ceremony of this year’s Queensland graduates.
This was a moving experience for students, their families, faculty members and industry bodies such as APAN and ASDC who came together to congratulate the graduates and to celebrate their achievements.
Graduates consisted of those who had completed the three-year Bachelor of Applied Health Science (Clinical Aesthetics), as well as others who had graduated with an Associate Degree in Dermal Therapies.
The evening was an intimate, inspirational event with graduates eagerly awaiting the ceremony that would acknowledge their hard work and welcome them as tertiary graduates into the exciting world of Clinical Aesthetics and Dermal Therapies.
Karen Connelly, Admissions Manager for ACHW, was the MC for the ceremonial procedures, while Professor Terry Everitt provided a moving address acknowledging the hard work of the graduates, encouraging them to remain consistent in their ongoing professional development and to continue to pursue their knowledge and their commitment to evidence-based practice.
Tina Viney, CEO of APAN presentation focused on some of the challenges that may await graduates as they transition from an academic world into the current turbulent VUCA business world (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity and Ambiguity).
Jennifer Byrne, president of ASDC congratulated the graduates and presented ways that ASDC can offer them support as they transition into their new profession, encouraging graduates to continue in their professional development and to aspire to be a profession that is currently being aligned to be officially part of Allied Health.
Gay Wardle, who is part of the teaching faculty and a dedicated lecturer, congratulated the graduates and participated in the graduation ceremony.
