Dear Dr Bach

RE: SALON AND CLINICS IN VICTORIA

Further to our discussion with Paul Byrnes from your office we conducted an industry Poll to determine the status of Salons within Victoria and the impact that the current restrictions was having on businesses.

The poll was circulated on Friday afternoon 6th November and was completed by 376 businesses over the consecutive 31 hours.

On Sunday morning Premier Andrews released an update, easing restrictions on the mandatory requirement for clients to wear masks during a salon treatment procedure effective from midnight 22nd November 2020. The lifting of this restriction is very much appreciated by salons, clinics and their clients.

On behalf of our members and the industry we would like to extend our thanks and appreciate for all your hard work in pursuing this outcome, on our behalf.

While the “mask issue” has been resolved, I was advised by Paul Byrnes, to provide you with the outcome of the poll for your information. Please see below:

POLL RESULTS FOR THE SAL0N INDUSTRY RELEASED BY THE AESTHETICS PRACTITIONERS ADVISORY NETWORK (APAN) standards body/association.

On Friday 6th November at 4.30pm EST and completed Saturday 7th November 11.30pm a poll was released by APAN with the following questions:

* Would clients wearing masks restrict your ability to recover? Yes: 100%
* Is 90% or more of your business consist of facial treatments? Yes: 100%
* Please indicate if your business has entered bankruptcy or is beyond recover at this present time and is about to cease trading? Yes: 38%

In 31 hours, 375 business responded. 142 business confirmed that their businesses were beyond recovery. Should the poll be allowed to continue until Tuesday 10th November as

intended, we believe that they would reveal a substantial high number of businesses that have gone into bankruptcy.

Please feel free to use these statistics as you see fit.

Once again thank you for your support and please keep us informed on any way that we can assist your efforts further.

With thanks and gratitude
